Description:The Hearst Foundations support well-established nonprofit organizations in education, health, culture, and social service that primarily serve large demographic and geographic constituencies. Within education, the foundations generally provide program, scholarship, capital, and on a limited basis, endowment support. They fund educational institutions demonstrating uncommon success in preparing students to thrive in a global society. The focus is largely on higher education. Preference is given to professional development for faculty; higher education scholarships; and, on a limited basis, scholarships for postgraduate education. However, innovative models of early childhood and kindergarten through grade 12 education are also funded.
Eligibility:Public, Private, Other (including homeschool, 501 (c)(3) organizations)
Award(s):Awards range from $25,000 to $600,000.
Deadline(s):Proposals are accepted year-round through the Hearst Foundationsí Online Application.
