Description: | Toshiba America Foundation accepts applications from teachers who are passionate about making science and mathematics more engaging for their students. The foundation seeks to support teachers by providing funds to support classroom projects. The foundation strongly encourages projects planned and led by individual teachers or teams of teachers for their own classrooms. Successful projects tap into the natural curiosity of students, enable students to frame their own scientific questions, and incorporate the expertise of community partners. Applications must be for project-based learning. Science and mathematics teachers in public or private (nonprofit) schools may apply for grants to support classroom science and mathematics education, and increase their engagement with the subject matter and improve their learning. Summer programs, after-school projects, and independent study projects are not eligible for funding. In addition, requests solely for computers are not considered. Applicants are welcome to contact the foundation by phone to discuss their project ideas prior to submitting an application. Applicants must complete a short questionnaire in order to access the online application. | |
