Description:The Arts and Science Council offers Professional Development Scholarships for Teachers that support classroom educators in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region with professional growth opportunities. Funding may be used for workshops, conferences, or short-term training programs that advance classroom practice. Eligible expenses include registration fees, travel, and hotel costs; incidental expenses are not covered. Although there is a primary focus on arts, science, and history, educators of any subject may apply.

Eligible applicants are kindergarten through grade 12 classroom educators, employed during regular school hours, in accredited schools in Mecklenburg, Union, Iredell, Gaston, Lincoln, and Cabarrus Counties, North Carolina; and Lancaster and York Counties, South Carolina. Interested educators must contact the Education Program Director prior to submitting an online application.

Award(s):Scholarships up to $1,000 are awarded.
Deadline(s):Applications are accepted on a rolling basis beginning July 1, 2019.
