Description:The Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF) recognizes that it must increase its focus on basic, one-time project needs. It is challenging itself to seek ways to provide the tools that help educators and nonprofit parent groups through these challenging times efficiently and with the greatest impact. LCEF has helped more than 1,000 schools across the country create reading gardens, build playgrounds and implement other improvement projects that help strengthen their schools and their communities. Projects must be completed within one year after receipt of grant. Preference is given to projects that have a permanent impact such as facility, enhancement as well as projects that encourage parent involvement.

Eligible applicants are public and charter kindergarten through grade 12 schools or nonprofit parent groups associated with a public kindergarten through grade 12 school. There are two grant cycles each school year. Only one application may be submitted per school for any given grant period. In order to submit an application, schools must be in the Lowe’s database.
