|Description:||The Walmart Foundation strives to empower low-income people to increase quality of life. The National Giving Program allows the foundation to work strategically with organizations workings across one or more states to address social issues strongly aligned with its focus areas.|
The foundation requires that all funds be directed to programs that fall within Walmart’s focus areas: hunger relief and healthy eating, sustainability, women’s economic empowerment, or career opportunity.
Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible to apply. Interested applicants should be operating on a national scale at multiple sites across the US; have innovative initiatives that are ready for replication; and must be able to demonstrate that the program or project has previously achieved its proposed outcomes or provide research that validates work of the proposed grant. Applicants must first submit a Letter or Inquiry; selected applicants are then invited to submit a full proposal.
