Description:The Innovative Worthy Projects Foundation (IWPF) makes grants to organizations dedicated to serving children with special needs, acute illnesses, or chronic disabilities by developing innovative programs, disseminating ideas, or providing direct care or services. The foundation awards grants only to organizations and not to individuals. Previous grants were used to fund adaptive equipment, outreach programs for abused and neglected children, schools for hearing and speech, and mobility accessories and furniture.

The foundation typically does not fund salaries and professional fees, operating expenses, or building programs. Grants are made on a one-time basis and may totally support a proposal or supplement other funding. All decisions about grant approval and amounts are made by the board of trustees. If a grant is approved, the organization must confirm the grant does not duplicate funding for any part of a project.

Eligible organizations must have 501(c)(3) status and generally may not be private foundations. An agency or entity applying for funding must indicate whether it is connected to any branch of the federal government or to a state, county, or local municipal government. The application must be completed and submitted using the online system.
